Definition
Link popularity is a term coined to describe a site's "worth" in the search engines. Link Popularity refers to the number of links pointing to a website. the greater the number of links the more popular a site is considered to be.
With today's search engines, however, the sheer volume of links is not all that is considered when ranking pages. Now, a website must not have just volume but the links must be from relevant and authoritative sites in the same or similar industries.
