Also known as Doorway Pages, Anchor Pages or Hallway Pages these pages have evolved to be used for many things.

for PPC campaigns, landing pages are used to help convert visitors into buyers while for link building, landing pages are used in conjunction with Anchor Text to help impove a site's link popularity.
